AhlulBayt News Agency: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has described martyr Kamal Kharrazi, former head of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was martyred in US-Israeli attacks on Iran, as “a man of rare learning and genuine warmth.”

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Kamal Kharazi, former Foreign Minister of Iran whose untimely death came from the wounds inflicted by Zionist terrorist attacks,” Ibrahim wrote on his X account on Friday.

“I first came to know Dr Kharazi during his years as Iran’s envoy to the United Nations in New York, and our friendship carried through his distinguished tenure as Foreign Minister,” he noted.

“The world has lost an exceptional diplomat and I have lost a dear friend,” he said adding that martyr Kharrazi was a man of rare learning and genuine warmth: always thoughtful, always gracious.

“My heartfelt condolences to his family and to the people of Iran. His passing is a reminder of the terrible cost of this conflict. This war must end,” Ibrahim stated.

Kharrazi was an advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Martyr Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the head of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, the head of the Iranian Institute of Higher Education in Cognitive Sciences, and a member of the Expediency Discernment Council.

He also had other executive positions in his record, including the CEO of the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents (commonly known as Kanoon), the CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the head of the War Propaganda Headquarters, and Permanent Representative and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations.

Kharrazi was also a prominent scholar in the field of psychology and cognitive sciences, and has written extensively on the subjects. As a professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Tehran, he has trained hundreds of students.

In an attack conducted by the US and Israeli terrorists on his home on April 1, his wife, Mansoura Rais-Qassem, was martyred, and he took serious injuries. He finally succumbed to his injuries on the evening of Thursday, April 9.
